Syphilis Enhanced Response Program (SER)

The Syphilis Enhanced Response (SER) Program aims to address the current NT-wide syphilis outbreak while reducing rates of all sexually transmissible Infections (STIs) in the Katherine Region.

The SER Team utilise syphilis point of care testing for the prompt return of test results allowing the team to immediately commence treatment and assist with contact tracing accordingly. The SER team also delivers a range of health promotion and preventative activities by working with key stakeholders and providing outreach services to communities within the Katherine vicinity.

The SER Program is staffed by a Coordinator, a female and male RAHP and two Community Engagement Support Officers. They maintain a confidential and culturally appropriate approach to their service delivery.
