The Trainee Aboriginal Islander Health Practitioner (TAHP) role is a training role designed to support individuals undertake a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (practice) with a combined on the job and off the job approach to the training relevant to complete the qualification over two (2) years.
Once you have successfully completed your first twelve (12) months of training you will be considered for another twelve (12) month contract as a TAHP.
Essential:
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills
Desired:
- Successfully completed up to Year 10
- An understanding or lived experience of Indigenous culture and its effects on health and wellbeing.
- Confirmation of Aboriginality Descent Form
- National Police Records Check and Working with Children’s Clearance
- Current Northern Territory Driver’s License
