Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Program

StrongBala Alcohol & Other Drugs service endeavours to provide a holistic and culturally appropriate drug and alcohol rehabilitation services for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the Katherine region.

StrongBala AOD services are provided to assist in the reduction of the harmful impacts that Alcohol and other Drug misuse/ abuse has on other individuals and family safety, community well-being, as well as contributing towards the health outcomes for individual clients.

 The AOD program places its female AOD worker in the SIWP Centre and its male AOD workers at the Strongbala shed.

What to see us for

You can come and see us for support for the following:

  • Drug and alcohol counselling for individuals, families and groups
  • AOD issues and resources
  • School visits and information sessions

For Men
The Strongbala Men’s Shed, 8 Third Street, Katherine. 0850

For Women
Women are initially referred to the Main Clinic at 25 Third Street.

How to see us

You can come to the Strongbala shed during our operating hours:

Monday to Friday   8.30am to 12.30pm.

You can also come into any of our clinics and ask to see a Registered Aboriginal Health Worker or Doctor

You can phone 89 729 176 (men) or 89 729 188 (women) and ask to be picked up and brought in to the centres.  We will drop you back home as well
