Women’s and Children’s Health Program

The Women’s And Children’s Team’s focus is firmly on providing a healthy beginning to life.

This team covers two very important programs:

Women’s Health

The Women’s program is the best place for women to come for any of the following (and more):

  • a well women’s check-up and PAP smears
  • advice on family planning and contraception
  • antenatal health care for pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Privacy in screening and treating Sexually Transmitted Infections
  • any women’s health business

Women’s Health Program operating hours

Monday – 8:30 am to 4pm
Tuesday – 8:30 am to 4pm (focus on antenatal care)
Wednesday – 8:30 am to 11:30am (we are closed for in-service training in the afternoon)
Thursday – 8:30 am to 4pm
Friday – 8:30 am to 4pm (focus on Women’s Business)

Child Health

The Child Health program is the best place for both men and women to bring children for any of the following (and more):

  • Developmental checks
  • Parental support
  • Early childhood nutrition
  • Babies and small children’s immunisations

Please note: sick children should see the General and Acute Care staff

Men are very welcome to bring their children along to the Child Health program

Tuesday – 8:30 am to 4pm
Wednesday – 8:30 am to 11:30am (we are closed for in-service training in the afternoon)
Thursday – 8:30 am to 4pm (focus on kids clinics)
Friday – 8:30 am to 4pm

Where you can find us

The Women’s program is located in our women-only rooms at the main clinic at 25 Third Street

The Child Health program is located in the child health rooms at the main clinic at 25 Third Street.  Men are very welcome to bring their children along to the Child Health program

How to see us

You can come to the main reception during our operating hours and ask to see the women’s or children’s team especially, or you can see staff in the main clinic as well with your acute women’s and children’s health matters

We now also have an appointment system for current clients

You can phone 89 729 100 and ask for an appointment or to be picked up an brought in to see our health care staff

We will send out reminder letters and messages to you when you or your children are due for an appointment or other type of follow up care

Special days

  • We go and do school screening throughout the school year
  • We do Community visits
  • We provide a Well Women’s clinic from the SIWP centre
